Marriage should be the strong building blocks for a healthy relationship and taken very seriously. However, our society is being impacted with a high number of divorces that occur each year. A marriage should be a good, solid, loving foundation in which children can be healthy, happy, and who will have the ability to reach their true potentials in life.
Each year over one million American children will be subjected to the divorce of their parents. Half of the children will see the divorce of their parents before the age of 18. Escalating studies demonstrate that this problem is very overwhelming physically, emotionally, and economically. These consequences will last well into their later life. Divorces affect all age groups.
Effects of divorce are escalating in signs of abuse. Children display more health issues, negative actions, and emotional issues. Children that survive a divorce are more susceptible to participate and get involved in crimes, drug abuse, and suicides. Some children are also recognized to rank poorly in school regarding reading, writing, and math. They are prone to stay back a grade and never complete high school.
Families that were doing well financially prior to the divorce will impact the growth of their children. After the separation, most of the families are reduced to live on state funding, food stamps, and improper housing. Even if divorces are friendly and harmonious, they tear apart the underlying unit of the marriage. It should be no shock to find that divorces are affecting society.
